STATE AND PERSPECTIVES OF DEVELOPMENT THE MEAT MARKET IN UKRAINE
Abstract
The results of exploration of the meat market in Ukraine are presented in the article. The main trends in conjuncture of the meat market in general and in its single segments are defined and analyzed. The real and potential capacity of the markets of poultry, pork and beef in Ukraine is explored. The most important factors of the development of explored market are defined and analyzed. Potential of market’s growth under a scientifically grounded norm of consumption per person is computed. The core structural changes in supply and fund of consumption, which took place during the analyzed period are elucidated. Economic assessment of the net export of the main kinds of meat in Ukraine is conducted. The main components of the balance of meat and meat products are researched. Propositions and recommendations regarding the perspectives of the meat market’s development in Ukraine and in its single segments, in conditions of negative social and economical processes within the country, are presented and grounded. Priority of expansion of meat’s supply in Ukraine, as one of the main components of the mechanism of price stabilization on the market and preconditions for net export’s increase is determined.
