Thus, the relevance of this research is due to the need of society for highly qualified specialists with a high level of language competence, lack of theoretical and methodological development of methodical learning conditions of Latin legal terminology, as well as the future development issues. In the article there have been analyzed the Latin legal terminology, there have been noted its role in the development of system of terminology of law. There has been increased focus on lexical and semantic aspect in the learning process with an emphasis on the phenomenon of polysemy, synonymy, antonymy, homonymy, enantiosemy, terminologization and determinologization. There have been characterized the ways of word formation and structure of Latin terminology of law, including one–word terms formed by affixation, two–word and multiword terms. There have been analyzed the features of learning and functioning of Latin loaned terms on grammatical and lexical–semantic levels. There has been brought into focus the cultural aspect of study of Latin language and the history of development of Latin aphoristic literature that will enable to deepen and enrich the communicative competence of law students, to raise their intellectual level. There have been determined the trends of updating the methodology of teaching Latin terminology of law.  ER -
