Abstract

The article shows the state of erythrocytopoesis and presents some indicators of the blood of puppies 1, 7, and 14 days old, grown in the conditions of influence of ionizing irradiation. It is established that the environmental factors of Narodychi district (radioactive pollution) adversely affect on erythrocytopoesis in dogs, which was manifested by a decrease in hemoglobin in dogs of all age groups starting from 7 days of age, and a decrease in the number of red blood cells in puppies, 1 and 14 days of age. The greatest number of patients with anemia of animals identified among 14–day–old puppies due to cumulative action of ionizing irradiation. Biochemical studies of blood serum of the studied animals revealed that the puppies of all age groups, grown in conditions of ionizing irradiation, the total protein content tended to decrease. In addition, in experienced pups of 14 days of age it was diagnosed with a significant reduction of albumin (p < 0.05), and at 1– and 7–days – increase of bilirubin, indicating a violation of protein synthesis and chromogenic functions of liver due to the effects of ionizing irradiation. Thus, the effect of chronic irradiation exposure significantly reduces the state erythrocytopoiesis that is characterized by oligochromemia and oligocythemia and is manifested by hypoalbuminemia and hyperbilirubinemia that indicate impaired liver function.
